About Us
Long Bay Camp, an Ontario Summer Arts Camp
Situated in the heart of the Canadian Shield, on 350 acres of awe inspiring wilderness, Long Bay is an Ontario Summer Arts Camp that offers campers a magnificent opportunity to get up close and personal with nature.
Nestled on the shore of Bobs Lake, in Westport, Ontario, known for its clean water, excellent fishing and over 100 islands, Long Bay Camp features unique geological formations, beautiful hilltop panoramic views of the lake and unspoiled natural beauty.
The Beach
One of the highlights of Long Bay Camp is our private waterfront area. Paddle along the bay in a guided canoeing excursion, or just enjoy the shore with a great swim either at our very own sandy beach or jump in off the dock at the boathouse. Our private shoreline is over one kilometre long.
Wildlife
With all the wildlife around, campers just might see magnificent bald eagles, hawks, deer, loons, and wild turkeys. Long Bay has them all and much more! Campers can visit one of four inhabited beaver dams, canoe to an island covered in first growth forest and hike on a variety of scenic trails. It’s awesome!
Accommodations
Where we sleep
Each of our four large cabins has a common lobby area, a covered deck and accommodates a total of 20 people per cabin. Counsellors stay in the cabins with their groups and our program teachers stay in adjacent cabins. Our camper to counsellor ratio is 4-1, with two counsellors in each group. Our goal is to ensure that our campers receive all the personal attention they need.
Where we eat
The Lodge is nestled on a hilltop above the lake with spectacular views of Long Bay. When weather permits, campers may dine outdoors on the sprawling deck while watching the setting sun. The Lodge also accommodates a professional kitchen, first aid room, the nurse’s quarters and an administrative office.
Where we play
A large, well groomed playing field lends itself to a variety of recreational sports like volleyball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee and camp-wide games. Campers will have many opportunities to participate in a variety of sports activities.
Where we keep clean
Our bathroom facilities are located in the common area next to the Lodge and come equipped with 14 showers with hot and cold running water and flush toilets. We take pride in how clean they are kept.
